March 15-20

Well, this week was pretty slow. If there is a word to describe it
it's probably endure. We had a lot fall through and a lot of things
cancel and a LOT of people who didn't keep commitments, but such is
the missionary life.

Journal

3/15/2016- Tuesday
We did Stake reports. After Stake Reports we went and did service at
Hillcrest thrift store. Service was fun and afterward we had dinner
before the weekly report on the Stakes missionary work. After the
report we used a few lists we have to try and find some people to
teach.

3/16/2016- Wednesday
We had district meeting in St. Joseph, we talked a lot about
developing Christlike attributes. There's a chapter in Preach My
Gospel, chapter six, all about it and it's probably my favorite
chapter to study from. Well, after district meeting we had a district
lunch before we exchanged with the St. Joseph 1 Elders. I went to St.
Joe with Elder Wood and Elder Hunt stayed in Platte City with Elder
Sutton. The day was good but slow. We tried a few potentials and then
knocked on doors for a little bit and ended up finding a new
investigator from it so that was great! Well after dinner we had a
correlation with the award Mission Leader up in St. Joe 1; following
which we had an appointment with a less active member and a recent
convert who are friends.

3/17/2016- Thursday ☘☘☘☘☘🍀🍀🍀🍀
We did studies then exchanged back. When we got back we went and
helped a member with some garden work. We helped him clear some room
for a river type of thing and then lay some mulch down and put some
cinder blocks around a garden area. After service we had a visit with
a family we are working with and talked about enduring to the end.
From there we rushed to dinner and then had an appointment with A.E.
where we found out that his girlfriend who was living with him
had moved out so he was clear for baptism. After the visit with him we
visited with a less active family who lived nearby.

3/18/2016- Friday
So we worked out with J.B. in the morning and from there we
went and helped a family move into their house. So they had a house
built and had all their stuff in a storage place who came and dropped
it off and we had to organize where it went and carry it up stairs,
set it on the main floor or put it in the dining room. Well, it took a
little longer than usual. We were helping the moving crew unload the
boxes and carry them where they went and it took about 2 hours to do
that, well, that was only the first load. So the crew went and drove
45 minutes each way to get the next set of stuff. We sat around for
like two hours waiting for the next load to come, it took a lot longer
than we thought. Well, it finally came so we started unloading it and
about a third in Elder Hunt slipped on the stairs and fell on his back
so he was in some pain. He relaxed and we helped them move some more
before Elder Hunt decided he needed to get home and lay down. We
didn't really have anything set up for the rest of the day so we ended
up being in the house for the rest of the day with Elder Hunt just
passed out.

3/19/2016- Saturday
Elder Hunts back still hurt so we went to the same members house who
we helped move in because they have back stretching machine Elder Hunt
could use. It helped out a bit but he was still in some pain. We went
home, changed, and went out to a small town, Weston. There we tried to
contact some potential investigators and find some people to teach,
but didn't have any success. We were able to talk to a less active man
and his wife who isn't a member. We've been kind of working with them
for a while just trying to get them to church. From their house we had
dinner with a super cool family who just had their son get home from
his mission in Chile. They reminded me a lot of our family. They had
all the siblings in town together and boy were they funny, we were
just cracking up the whole time. We had a visit with the B family who
were having some stuff go down in the neighborhood and it was
definitely an inspired visit because we helped to diffuse the
situation pretty quickly. From there we ended up going back to our
dinners house to have some dessert which they hadn't finished when we
left the first time.

3/20/2016- Sunday
Had correlation in the morning. We had ward choir practice before
church and we sang "Beautiful Savior" in sacrament meeting. Talks were
good. Subjects were trusting God, the role of the Holy Ghost, and
enduring to the end. Sunday school was on Charity. Priesthood was on
the Atonement. After church we did some good old tracting in an
attempt to find someone to teach, no success. We had dinner then we
tried to contact some people before finishing up our weekly planning
session. We did, however, find out that Arthur might not be able to
meet his baptismal date due to some poor decision making.

Well, I hope everyone has a great Easter week and remembers the true
meaning of it. Take some time and go to followhim.mormon.org, browse
around and share the main video #Hallelujah with a brief testimony of
how you've been blessed through Jesus Christ. Have a great week!
Much love,
Elder Hinrichsen
